A case of consumer ‘overconfidence’

Our research revealed that consumers are often overconfident in their security prowess, leaving them vulnerable and enabling cybercriminals to up the ante this year, which has resulted in record attacks.

We found that those who emphasize the importance of online security, generally contradict themselves through their actions, and as a result, are more likely to fall victim to cybercrime as they leave their virtual door open when it comes to security.

Testimonial

Consumers’ actions revealed a dangerous disconnect…despite a steady stream of cybercrime sprees reported by media, too many people appear to feel invincible and skip taking even basic precautions to protect themselves.
